Red-Hot Lingerie + a Debenhams Giveaway!

Monday, 31 October 2016

Hello everyone! I am somewhat ashamed as to how long it has taken me to finally get this post and giveaway up on the blog. It should have gone up weeks ago, but due to some work and personal issues, I have been struggling to find the time to actually sit down and get some serious, hard-core blogging done, I can't even remember the last time I did an outfit post! Anyway, the stress is somewhat over and I have managed to find the time to start blogging properly again, and I have decided to start with my review of this gorgeous bra + brief set from Debenhams lingerie.

As I mentioned previously in this post here, I am working with Debenhams on their new bra fit campaign, which is all about getting the nations boobies into the right fitting bras - because honestly there are a lot of us who are in the wrong size bras and we don't even know it (8 out of 10 women - to be exact!). Debenhams actually recommend women to try to get a bra fitting done every 6 months to ensure that we are always wearing the correct size bra to support our breasts. If you haven't had one recently, you can head on down to Debenhams, where they carry out professional bra fittings for their customers...and no, it doesn't require you having to go topless in front of a complete stranger! That is just another one of the many myths about having a bra fit...and one that I believed for far too long.

Just ICYMI: The previous review featured this gorgeous Freya Fancies Lace Bra with this Freya Fancies Lace Brief, see the full post herePlease note: The giveaway for the Fancies lace bra and brief has now ended and entries are no longer being accepted.

Colour & Style:

Lingerie, lingerie, lingerie. Don't you just love it? The way it feels against your skin, the confidence it gives you, the way it makes you feel like a red-hot siren even when it is worn beneath the plainest of clothes. This red Debenhams Gorgeous Polka dot bra and brief set is the holy grail of feel-good lingerie and I was so excited to try them on and start reviewing the set once I had received it.

There's a reason that red is always the colour most associated with beauty, seduction and femininity. It is such a bright and alluring colour that without even trying, always attracts people to it. The colour of this bra has managed to do the same to me. When wearing this bright colour, I felt like the red hot siren that I always imagined I would grow up to be...(with leftover fries stuck in my hair, of course!) If you want something to make you feel sexy, this bra + brief set and it's bright colour will do just that.

In addition to the beautiful red, autumnal hue, the bra and brief both feature a pretty and intricate petal pattern along the trim and a polka dot stitch all over the lace fabric that covers the bra and the brief. Adding a beautiful feminine pattern to both pieces.

Fit:

Non-padded cups are not always my first preference with bras, however the fit of this one is definitely different to the freya set featured in my last review, the material used on this one is a lot thicker, and thus provides more coverage. So if you're someone who likes to keep modest, but still show a bit of skin, then this is the bra for you. With this thicker and softer fabric, it also allows the bra and brief to sit a lot more comfortably against the skin.
In addition to this, as with most of the bras I have reviewed, this bra, also comes with a strong underwire to help add extra support and comfort. I did find that at times, when I wore the bra for a long time, the underwire did begin to become somehwat uncomfortable, but nothing to the point where it felt too overwhelming.

Out of all of the lingerie sets that Debenhams have sent me to review, I would say that this set is my favourite. It makes me feel feminine, powerful and (As chessy as it sounds) as if I could take on the world. I did mention earlier that clothes have the power to completely change your outlook on life and that is exactly how I feel with this, fiery, red set.
