90's Bucket Baby

Thursday, 3 March 2016

Several things come to mind when I think of the 90's, most of which you can find in yesterday's post on the "11 Best Thing's of the 90's". The other is mainly to do with fashion and boy when it comes to the 90's, there was a heck of a lot of it! I feel like so much of the fashion from the 90's has become lost in a time tunnel of fashion and I wish it would come out from hiding, because I really miss it! However, fashion is cyclical which means that what has gone out of fashion will eventually come back in fashion, and on "trend" again, with everyone from your granny to your pet mouse obsessing over how much they love this forgotten trend!

I however, loves 90's fashion WAY too much to wait for it to come back on "trend" again in the fashion calendar and would much rather just rock all the fun looks now!

Today's outfit post is bringing you back a triple feast of 90's fashion: bucket hats, denim dungarees and bright coloured jumpers all in tow.

Let me first just ask? What ever happened to bucket hats? I mean did they just die out? Are they now seen as a fashion faux pas like the infamous "fanny pack". Well, whatever it was, they were long since forgotten about, along with Ant & Dec's brief music career of the 90's(something I think none of us want to relive again)! But I didn't ever forget them and I have just been waiting for the right opportunity to present itself, to introduce it to you all on my blog.

Bucket hat's are cool, let's face it! They're grungy, they're edgy and they're urban and that's what I wanted to portray with this outfit and awesome location.

Armed with a bad - ass photographer (Suzi Ovens) and an even more bad - ass location (Leake Street) I added on a pair of denim dungarees, some uber cool ASOS sunnies and immediately I felt as edgy as edgy could feel!

The dungarees are the perfect mix of being baggy in all the right places, but not to the point where I look like I'm wearing "hammer-time" pants, if you know what I mean? While the block yellow coloured jumper makes me look like some kind of canary - but in an edgy way of course, because well- Leake street! Ain't no airy, un-edgy canary going to be singing there!

Finished off perfectly with my favourite Primark Gusset style flat boots, that look more like worker man boots, especially with the dungarees, but do you know what? That's how I like it!

I absolutely love this outfit and I feel the bucket hat acts as the perfect finishing touch to this 90's look! And don't even get me started on the amazing Leake street location, Suzi and I worked our way through the whole tunnel and I literally wanted to shoot against every-single-wall, it''s that beautiful. Leake Street tunnel truly is a work of art, and I would LOVE to return there again to shoot.

I'd also like to finally say a huge thank you to Suzi for these awesome photo's, they are everything I wanted for this outfit and more! I love a good themed shoot and I can't wait to shoot with her again! Do check out Suzi's site here if you guys are in need of some blog photos!

    1. Aww thank you, I'm so glad you like the look! I was worried the yellow would be too bright and a potential eye-sore but it's good to know it worked well! :)
