Top Reasons to start blogging, advice, bloggers - 100 Ways to 30
If you're like me and was about 10 years too late to the crazy phenomenon that is the internet & all things social media, then you probably were probably completely unaware of the "secret" world of blogging - and by secret, I mean awesome - obviously!

Blogging can open the door to a whole new world, filled with like minded people, amazing opportunities & lots of room for self-growth! Here are my top reasons why you should start (if you don't yet have a blog) or should continue (if you already have a blog) blogging!

Top Reasons to start blogging, advice, bloggers - 100 Ways to 30
 1. FREEDOM- When you write for a magazine, newspaper etc. the content that you create is controlled by the editors of the publication - it's restrictive and a lot of writers can sometimes feel trapped in a cycle of writing content they have no care or passion for! But with blogging, you become your own boss, you become your own editor, photographer, creative director etc. and you have the freedom to write about whatever the hell you damn well choose - and that to me is probably one of the most liberating things about blogging and one of the main reasons why you should start blogging today!

2. EVENTS - Blogging events are so fun, it's a chance to meet amazing brands, see amazing products and a chance to play 'spot the blogger and fail at it'  with just about every person you have spent getting to know online in the last 6 months! And while it can be very nerve racking going to a big scary event space, with so many talented and amazing people, people really are so friendly and they're all there for the same thing as you - for their love of blogging!

3. AMAZING WORKING RELATIONSHIPS -
It doesn't matter whether you're a full-time blogger, or a from time to time blogger, the chances are, companies will want to work with you, and sometimes these can be the beginning of a great professional relationship. I personally have only just started working with brands/PR's etc. but  the working relationship I have developed with these people, be it via email, at events or simply through tweets have been amazing and these are relationships I hope will continue to grow and develop for the foreseeable future.

4. FRIENDS - Now I couldn't do a top 7 reasons to start blogging post, without mentioning one of the best things to come out of blogging yet! Blogging buds, Blogging babes, friends, besties, whatever you wish to call them, they exist - and no they're not going to turn out to be a 76 year old man from the moon - they're legit people and they're awesome. With blogging buds you can actually debate about being a Ravenclaw and wanting to become an Auror and no one will roll their eyes or look at you weirdly (unless they're in Slytherin!) And as corny as it sounds when I'm interacting with the people I've met through blogging, I really do feel like I belong and fit in - finally

5. CAREER CHANGE - While many people who blog see it strictly as a hobby, many wish to one day turn it into a full-time or part - time career and essentially run a business. And while it may take a lot of hard work, grafting and time, if you're passionate enough, you could leave that dead - end job that makes you want to gouge your eyes out and indeed become the GIRL BOSS you've always dreamed of being!

6. TRIPLE THREAT- As bloggers we are the writers, editors, photographers, graphic designers etc. of our blogs and a lot of the time we are basically starting from scratch with it all. When you start blogging you will learn a multitude of new skills, some of which can help you to get jobs in your chosen career, or even start a new career altogether! And I genuinely think that bloggers are one of the most popular groups of people with an advanced skill-set - something which I think a lot more people away from the blogging world need to start to realise.

7. THERAPEUTIC - And finally my final reason to start blogging is for its therapeutic advantages. While it is not actually a recognised medical treatment, blogging allows us to write down some of our deepest thoughts, our wants, desires and needs and this allows us to reflect on experiences, and helps us organise our thoughts. It also helps to have other bloggers who have been through similar things to you, to listen and support you - think of it as blogging group therapy!

I hope you enjoyed reading about all the many reasons why you should start or continue blogging! Blogging is so beneficial and the best thing about it is that is accessible to almost anyone! I mean come on - even dogs are getting blogs and instagram accounts now!

Why did you start blogging? What are your reasons to start or continue blogging?

    1. YES! I know exactly what you mean, as much as I love psychology I just always felt like life was way too scientific and statistical with no room for creativity, blogging has helped so much! And yes you have, your photography is AH-mazing, I love seeing all the photos of your recipes - even though they make me hungry! ;)
