Farfetch Wishlist: Unleashing the Male in me

Thursday, 15 October 2015

A few days ago I was set a challenge by online luxury store Farfetch.com, and it was one that was just too good an opportunity to miss! The challenge was to create an outfit using items from the menswear section and only one womenswear item from the site. Now I don't know if you guys know, but I love a bit of androgyny in my life, so this was right up my street. You can see the look I created and the items I chose below.

As hard as it is to believe only one of these items are from the womenswear department. There was so much choice on the website, I found it hard to choose, but in the end I decided to go for a minimal and neutral style to create a look that was chic, autumnal and amazingly feminine at the same time.

Marni Sleeveless Coat - This jacket works as such a nice layering piece and is perfect for autumn! It is the perfect finishing piece and I think it ties the whole outfit together, while giving it that feminine touch aswell! Find it here.
Rick Owens Funnel Neck Sweater - Plain, simple and dark, this top was right up my street! I love how loose it is, and I think it would hang so lovely on a female (almost like a dress) or a very long t-shirt. This with no bottoms and the thigh high boots will look ah-mazing! Find it here
Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots - I have been looking for a pair of over the knee boots for so long now and these are just perfect. They are a gorgeous suede which is perfect for the 70's trend that is so popular right now for autumn and they just add an extra bit of sass to a minimal and simple look. Find them here.
Givenchy Paris Clutch Bag - Now I had no idea men even had clutch bags! But there were so many on the Farfetch website that I was finding it hard to choose! Man clutches are right up my street, they're simple, dark and free from extra fandagles that women's bags tend to have i.e. sequins and beading, which I sometimes find a little too girly! This clutch is super cool, and I would actually consider buying it, if I could afford it right now! Find it here.
Larose Paris Zip Detail Fedora Hat - Now I am no stranger to a good old fedora hat, you guys know how many times I have featured it in an outfit on here and my instagram. This one is no exception, it adds a bit of an edge but still keeps the look minimal with a single zipper on the side of the hat. Although masculine, a hat like this is the perfect accessory for any chic outfit! Find it here.
Joseph Brooks Pendant Necklace - Another male item that I just couldn't get enough of! There were so many necklaces I could've paired with this outfit, I was spoilt for choice! But in the end I decided on this beauty, again it's simple in design yet striking with it's colour. I wanted to keep in with the minimal theme of the outfit and thought that this didn't overpower the look, or draw the attention away from the main pieces of the outfit. Find it here.
And there we have it! I really enjoyed doing this wishlist as I am such a big fan of masculine dressing, so it was a fun and enjoyable challenge to take on! I love the outfit I have come up with, and am really eager to create an outfit of my own based around this look now!

Which of these items were your favourite? Do you like menswear?

  2. This stuff looks great! I really like the sleeveless coat, I feel like it would be great with so many different outfits! Fall and winter, I think, are a great time for experimenting with more masculine looks, summer and men's wear (for me) don't work well, but winter and men's wear do! Such a great challenge, and a great outfit :)
