Running Amok, in an Artist's Smock!

Friday, 23 October 2015

So the story of how I came to be found in this shirt is actually quite a funny one, well funny for you guys, not funny for me! It was a warm, sunny day in West London, the birds were chirping away and I had a certain spring in my step because I had left my house early and was going to be on time for work. Until...

One of those happy chirpy birds, decided to excrement (let's keep this civil) all over my well thought out, freshly laundered outfit! It went everywhere, on my bag, my coat and the other shirt that I was wearing! Luckily it didn't go in my hair, because I did not have time to go back home and wash my hair, before heading out again! It's weird, because I have walked under that same tree for years and not once have I ever been excremented on by a little bird! (I now walk on the other side of the road for peace of mind - where there are no trees!) -_-

Anyhoo long story short, I went back home to change and I literally had nothing that was ready to wear, when I came across this shirt. The artist's smock - I call it that because it reminds me of the oversized smocks that artists use to paint in. It was my mom's and she wasn't there so I took it, in the hope that I would return it before she realised it had disappeared. UPDATE - The shirt is still in my possession, and she still hasn't realised - which means she never really cared for it - not like I do!

So onto the outfit - finally! I bet you thought that pointless, poorly told anectdote would never end! I am a big fan of oversized clothing, I always buy my jumpers about 2 sizes up and this shirt is just the right amount of over-sizey goodness! The navy blue is such a classic colour and the plain appearance of the shirt completes a minimal, slightly laid-back (Bruno Mars-today I don't feel like doing anything ) type of look! And yes, before you ask, it is intentionally creased (or so I would like to think!)

Paired again with these light blue Mom jeans from Primark, a choker and the pendant style owl necklace from poundland and I think I have just about nailed the artist come-fashion blogger-come psychologist look! What do you say?
And yes the owl is facing the wrong way here...And yes my lips do look like a vampire who has just eaten...
