6 Ways to Beat Those Monday Blues

Hey guys! Hope you're all well! So it's Monday today, and if you're anything like me you're probably throwing a right old tantrum at the prospect of facing anything and anyone on a Monday! *Groannn* Why must Monday suck SO much?! Can't there be like another day between Sunday and Monday, I think it would make life so much better! But to be honest I genuinely think that Monday sucks purely for being called Monday - don't get me? Ok hold on! Imagine if Monday was called Tuesday and Tuesday was called Monday, doesn't Tuesday just sound so much better for the start of the week and Monday sound horrid for the second day of the week?! Confused? Don't know what the heck I'm yabbering on about! Don't worry, you're in luck because I don't either! I'm waffling again - just ignore me (It's what everyone else does anyway when I start yapping on!). Anyhoo let's move on to today's post, which I'm sure from the title and that ridiculous amount of waffley text above that it is about good ol' Monday. Yes we all hate them, it's the day after the weekend and it's a whole 4 days away from Friday! Having trouble dealing with that horrible fact? Look no further, position yourself comfortably at your work desk, under someone's smelly armpit on the packed morning train or if you're in luck from the covers of your warm bed and have a read of the 6 ways you can beat the horrible Monday Blues:

1. Have a Chilled Sunday: It's your last day of freedom, before the dreaded week begins, so why not milk it for all it's worth. Make sure all work, errands and chores are complete on Saturday so that your Sunday can be kept free for whatever you want to do. You could have a lie in, go for brunch in a cute cafĂ©, ride your bike along the river bank. Or my personal favourite, lie in your PJ's all day, eating leftover Chinese while watching Kardashian re-runs, whatever you choose to do, make sure it's chilled and relaxing!

2. Spread Joy: Spread some love! I find whenever I'm feeling sad, I like to do two things. The first: I eat myself silly (Obvs!) and the second I spread some joy. I will do this by messaging a friend and asking how their day has been, paying someone a compliment or even commenting on a blog post! Making others feel good, makes us feel good! It's an age-old algorithm that seldom changes. Test it out this Monday guys and I promise you, you're gonna feel so much better and happier!

3. Eat Your Favourite Food: Indulge! Treat yourself to your favourite foods and lots of it. Be it Ice Cream for breakfast or pancakes for dinner. Eat as much as you want and whatever you want, if it helps to numb the pain of Monday, why the heck not?! And then on Tuesday it'll have to be back to broccoli and carrots I'm afraid guys!

4. Vent, Rant & Let it all out: Part of the horrid feelings of Monday is knowing that we have to return to work or school and deal with all the people and things that are really chewing our arses! I hated knowing that after a weekend of relaxation I had to return to those horribly long and boring lectures on the human psyche, it just frustrated me and I would stew inside. But don't stew guys, it adds to the tension and believe me the frustration will rise in a very unhealthy way. Let it out, talk to someone about any issues you might be having, write it down in a journal or simply blog about it if need be! But do NOT pent it all up. Clear your mind and free your Monday.

5. Be Thankful: Sometimes us folks over in the western world take things for granted. We shout and disrespect our parents and complain about the tiniest things (don't worry I'm guilty of this too!) but sometimes I think it's nice to just take a step back and appreciate all that we have in our lives at this present moment. I think we sometimes forget that there will always be someone out there who has it worse than you. While the rain may have just ruined your perfectly straightened hair or your car has refused to start for the umpteenth time - be thankful that it is a Monday, even if it sucks, because so many people probably never lived to see this Monday!

6. Look To Tomorrow: And if all the above doesn't work, just remember it's only Monday! It could be so much more worse, you could be an ant or some other kind of tortured animal, imagine that! Tuesday is only a day away, so stay strong folks and may the force be with you on this blue Monday.
